Aaron oversees the external manager platform with specific expertise in manager selection for traditional equity investments and liquid alternatives. He is responsible for investment research across equity-oriented asset classes and client education in equity markets. Aaron is also responsible for bottom-up global equity portfolio construction, idea generation for the platform, and is a voting member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Bel Air, Aaron was with Canterbury Consulting where he was the Director of Global Equity Research and chaired Canterbury’s Global Equity Manager Research Committee. He led the firm’s effort in sourcing, evaluating and monitoring traditional equity managers. Under his leadership, the committee made recommendations on managers for all traditional equity mandates. Prior to global equities, he covered fixed income, real assets, and liquid alternative strategies. Prior to moving to research, he was a senior analyst working on both institutional and private client accounts. Before Canterbury, he was with Pacific Life Insurance Company where he worked in the Securities Division and the Annuities and Mutual Funds Division.
Aaron received his MBA in Finance from the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine and his BS in Engineering from Vanderbilt University. He holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation (CAIA). Aaron has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press on equity markets and investments.
